Academy Name Changed to Prospects/Pre-Prospects

As a club, we do our best to keep our members up dated on all soccer related issues. As such this notice addresses the rebranding of the Academy programs as mandated by Soccer Nova Scotia.

In Soccer Nova Scotia’s continued efforts to create a clear pathway for players across Nova Scotia and aligning their partnership with the Vancouver Whitecaps, the Soccer Nova Scotia U12 Academy program will now be called the "Soccer Nova Scotia Whitecaps FC Prospects Program."

The program name “academy” is being phased out, as agreed upon by the technical leaders of licensed clubs, thus resulting in the term “Prospects” being phased in. The term, “academy,” is being phased out due to the definition and meaning being deemed exclusive and negative.

The new program name, “Prospects” is being implemented in the following ways:

• U11 and U12 programs are to be referred to as Prospects programs.
• U8, U9, U10 programs are to be referred to as Pre-Prospects programs.
