Who can Participate?
The under 13 teams play in the CISL for the summer and the MISL for the winter. At an additional cost there may be tryouts required for team placement. The Under 13 level is divided between A and B levels. There are Provincial level games for each of these levels and teams must play competing games in play downs to attend Provincials. Attaining top placement in the league does not qualify the team for Provincials. The Director of Coach and Player Development and the Technical Committee make the final say at tryouts wth regards to placement. Competing for the A level spots could be players who did not make or did not tryout for the Suburban FC Under 13 AA teams. In 2017 the U13A players will be combined with SUSA to form an SSC Selects team. U13B players will remain with Scotia or SUSA.
What is the structure of Play for U13 teams?
Starting in the Summer, 2017 season,Soccer Nova Scotia has structured the U13A games different than the U13B. Please refer to the SNS U13 Competition's document.
What equipment is required?
The players are required to wear shin pads, cleats or turf shoes (depending on field) with RFC socks and shorts. Socks and shorts can be purchased from the Club. They must return the jersey at the end of the season.
What is the schedule?
There are generally two games a week in the summer and one game a week in the winter. In the summer, rained out games and tournaments are played on the weekends. there is one practice and one training session included in the fee. Additional session are team expense.
How do I find a field?
Go to the CISL website for an updated page of fields, locations and maps for summer play. MISL winter play is located at Soccer Nova Scotia indoor fields.RFC maintains a list of field locations that are used for practices and games within the district.
Coaching
Teams are coached by volunteers. Skills sessions are run by Trainers with the assistance of the Coaching staff. Each team requires a parent-coach volunteer. All coaches must agree to have a police check performed and attend a coaching course. The costs for each are reimbursed by RFC.
Where will they play?
In the summer, travel for league games is within the whole Halifax Regional Municipality including north to Schubenacadie (East Hants), west toTantallon, south to Eastern Passage and east to Porters Lake. In the winter games a played indoors at the new SNS facility.
Tournaments
Attending tournaments will be discussed at a parents meeting.
Costs
Please refer to the Registration tab and select Program Information for current season fees. Additional fees can include, tournaments, purchase of clothing items (ie, shorts, socks, training t-shirts, track suits), additional practice or training sessions and team offical's travel expenses (generally for non parent coaches).

If there are sufficient number of teams, the Under 17 level maybe divided between A and B levels. There are Provincial level games for only the A level and teams must play competing games during Play Downs to attend Provincials. Attaining top placement in the league does not qualify the team for Provincials. If the league determines there will only be one division for U17 in any particular year, teams will be placed in the A division. The Director of Coach and Player Development and the Technical Committee make the final say at tryouts wth regards to placement. Also competing for the A level spots could be players who did not make or did not tryout for the Suburban FC Under 17 AAA teams.
