2nd Update On Club Progress- CENTRAL FC

2018-02-22

CENTRAL FC  IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM BOARD

CENTRAL FC
ANNOUNCEMENT FROM BOARD

You spoke and we listened!

As you can see, the first thing is the change in the Club name and crest.  Despite a great deal of support surrounding the merger the underlying comments were all based around these two items.  It was felt that the name did not represent our communities so we have chosen the name “Central Football Club”.  Geographically this fits and is in line with other sporting organizations in our area.  The crest despite being changed was still being likened to the crest of a professional football team from Scotland.  There were concerns regarding the potential infringement on their Intellectual Property.  Despite the fact that it was well liked it was felt that we should distance our Club from any possible conflict with another football club.  To that end, the crest you see above will be used on all club literature, the club jerseys, all merchandise, websites and social media.

Speaking of jerseys and merchandise, we are excited to announce that our supplier will be “Soccer Stop” which is located on Quinpool road in Halifax.  We wanted to go with a local provider who will stock merchandise for our membership where they can go and buy items off the shelf and also to support local business.  They will be offering 15% off everything they carry (not just Central merchandise) and also will be offering deals twice a year on team orders.  We are asking our membership to offer suggestions of what Central branded merchandise we would like Soccer Stop to carry in store.  If you do have any suggestions please contact any of the board members.

Still on the subject of equipment, our new Club jerseys will be unveiled at the presentation which we have provisionally booked for Monday, 5th March.  This date is still to be confirmed but there will be an email announcement stating the time and venue once booked.

Once again, if any of the membership is looking to get involved we are always looking for volunteers.  Over the coming months we will be having several events that will require some extra help and any assistance would be greatly appreciated.  There will be more event information available at the presentation evening.  One thing we do know is we have been chosen to host one of the U12A “Prospects” I.D. weekends.  This is really big news for our Club and one that will require a great deal of organization.  We will also be aiming to host one of the Tier 2A/B provincial championships, likely the U15A girls, and once again this is a manpower intensive event where we will be looking for volunteer involvement.

Look out for further details surrounding the presentation evening where we will be providing a lot more information, answering questions and unveiling the Club Jerseys.
