Scotia Alumni Nkem Ezurike is a Star at University of Michigan!
Scotia is very proud to highlight this the following article from the University of Michigan, where Nkem has been playing soccer for the past two years. http://www.mgoblue.com/sports/w-soccer/spec-rel/102612aaa.html . Quotes from the article include: "Ezurike has scored 30 goals; already sixth best in program history (her next goal ties her for fourth). Since Ezurike's arrival in 2010, Michigan is 32-16-8. The two years prior, the program was 10-19-10." "f you look at the top teams around the country, they all have at least one go-to scorer. Nkem is that for us." "Their game plan [the opposing team] is to try and shut her down, which typically doesn't work anyway, having other teams focus so much on her allows other players to go unnoticed. She can make an impact with or without the ball." "She isn't a dirty player. She doesn't kick people. She's just so strong and most defenders can't handle her." "When it comes to skill, speed, strength, striking the ball, beating players one-on-one, Nkem is better, the scary thing is that she's a long way from reaching her potential. There just aren't that many players in the world with her athletic ability that can finish chances."
Nkem is The first player from Nova Scotia to score at the International scene not once but twice!!!

Excerpts from the media of Nkem's career:
Canada Stopped in U-17 Quarter-final
Canada's run at the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup New Zealand 2008 came to an end on Saturday afternoon after a 1:3 loss to European champion Germany. Canada cut an 0-2 deficit late in the first half, but could not get back on terms with the German giants at Wellington Stadium in Wellington. It took all of four minutes for Germany to find the back of the net. Dzsenifer Marozsan scored her first of two goals on the day on a pass from Lynn Mester. With her back to the goal, Marozsan accepted the pass, pivoted and fired on net, beating four defenders and the Canadian goalkeeper. Within half an hour, Canada would be down 0-2 after a Lynn Mester goal. Canada had created some chances in between goals, but could not penetrate a real threat against German goalkeeper Anna Sarholz. So in the 34th minute, Alexandra Popp struck the post and Mester made no mistake with the rebound for the commanding lead.
Canada finally got on the board late in the first half, breathing life into the country's semi-final hopes.Nova Scotia's Nkem Ezurike scored in the 44th minute, her second marker of the tournament. With the ball in deep off a Canadian free kick, Tiffany Cameron helped push the ball to Ezurike who found the back of the net.
Soccer Nova Scotia will be well represented at the U17 National Team Camp next week in Toronto. Nkem Ezurike (Scotia), Jenna Goobie (Halifax County) and Courtney Conrad (Dartmouth United) have been invited to attend the week long camp that runs from the 15th -23rd March in Vaughn, Ontario. The girls all impressed head coach, Bryan Rosenfeld at the all-star national championships in Quebec last summer. Their progress has been monitored through the NTC Atlantic over the winter months. Nkem has attended several national team camps over the past year but this is the first time Jenna and Courtney have been to camp. Mike Hudson, Director of Coaching and Player Development for Soccer Nova Scotia stated, "these girls have all worked very hard over the past few years and having three players from our province at the camp is indicative of the current quality we have in our female program."
